Sailor Jerrys Story

Sailor Jerry Swallow, a tattoo artist from Halifax, has been tattooing in New Glasgow for 20 years.

Swallow is an absolute legend in the tattoo industry, pumping out some of the best traditional Americana, and traditional Japanese-style tattoos for over 50 years, all around the world.

Jerry is credited for being the first to introduce the Japanese style to tattooing to  Canada.

  Jerry is old-school, from the top of his head to the tips of his talented fingers. Artists like Sailor Jerry are the heart and soul of this business. There may be new techniques, new artists and new ways of looking at things, but Jerry remains an unflinching reminder of the foundations on which the modern renaissance of tattooing is based.
